On December 6, 2023, Milanovich was promoted to Head Coach and OC of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, becoming the 27th head coach in the franchise’s history. Milanovich had previously served as the Senior Assistant Coach for the Tiger-Cats during the 2023 season and took over offensive play-calling duties in August, leading the team to its fifth consecutive playoff appearance after a 3-6 start.
Milanovich brings over 20 years of coaching experience, including five seasons as Head Coach of the Toronto Argonauts (2012-16), where he won a Grey Cup in 2012 and was named CFL Coach of the Year. His coaching career also includes roles with the Montreal Alouettes, Edmonton Elks, and Calgary Stampeders, where he worked with legendary players such as Anthony Calvillo, Ricky Ray, and Zach Collaros. Before coaching, Milanovich had a successful playing career, including a 2001 XFL championship with the Los Angeles Xtreme.
