Philip Vigil begins his second season as head coach of the Colorado State University Pueblo football program in 2024, following his appointment in December 2022. In his first season, Vigil led the ThunderWolves to an 8-3 record and a seven-game win streak, with the team ranking in the top 15 nationally in passing offense and scoring offense.
Before coming to CSU Pueblo, Vigil was head coach at Western New Mexico, where he led the Mustangs to their first winning season in nearly three decades and won the 2022 Chile Bowl Championship. He has also had coaching stints at Stephen F. Austin, Fort Hays State, and Northwest Missouri State, where he contributed to multiple conference titles. A former quarterback at Colorado Mesa, Vigil is committed to continuing the program’s success.
