Mike Thiessen just completed his 18th season at the Academy in 2024, including his 11th as offensive coordinator and 8th as quarterbacks coach. He has led one of the nation’s most consistent offensive units, guiding the Falcons to three consecutive national rushing titles and top rankings in time of possession. Thiessen helped quarterbacks like Zac Larrier and Haaziq Daniels achieve notable successes, including Larrier’s record-breaking 2023 season.
A former two-sport star, Thiessen earned All-American honors in baseball and was the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year in football in 2000. He led the Falcons to a bowl victory and set multiple baseball records. After a brief pro baseball career, Thiessen returned to the Academy, where he has served as a coach since 2007.
