Mark Kilam has been named the 25th head coach in the history of the Edmonton Elks, the team announced on Monday. A University of Alberta graduate, Kilam returns to Edmonton after two decades with the Calgary Stampeders, where he built a reputation as one of the CFL’s most respected coaches. Kilam takes over the head coaching role after years of preparation, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a high level of enthusiasm.
Elks Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager, Ed Hervey, expressed confidence in Kilam’s leadership, highlighting his ability to connect with players and earn the respect of coaches across the league. Kilam’s energy and the coaching staff he is assembling are seen as key components in the Elks’ pursuit of building a championship organization.
