Marcus Woodson, Arkansas

Marcus Woodson enters his second year as the Razorbacks’ co-defensive coordinator, having made a significant impact in his first season. The Arkansas defense, especially the secondary, saw tremendous improvement, ranking 31st in FBS for pass defense and allowing the fewest yards per game (357.2) in a decade. Under Woodson and secondary coach Deron Wilson, the team also led the nation in defensive touchdowns, with standout performances from Jaylon Braxton, Alfahiym Walcott, and Hudson Clark.

Woodson brings extensive experience, having previously served as Florida State’s defensive backs coach and defensive passing game coordinator from 2020-22, where his players, including NFL draftees Jammie Robinson and Asante Samuel Jr., earned All-ACC honors. Before FSU, he coached at Auburn, Memphis, and Fresno State, consistently developing elite talent and top-performing defenses. Woodson began his career at Millsaps College, helping win three SCAC championships and producing multiple all-conference defensive backs.
