Luke Day, South Carolina

Luke Day is in his fourth season leading the Gamecock football strength and conditioning program, a role he assumed on Jan. 10, 2021. With collegiate and professional experience, Day joined Carolina after serving as head strength and conditioning coach at Marshall in 2020, his second tenure with the Thundering Herd. He also worked at Colorado in 2019 and held the same role at Marshall from 2016-2018, succeeding Scott Sinclair, who significantly influenced the program’s philosophy during a successful three-year period.

Day’s professional background includes a year with the Cincinnati Bengals’ strength staff and collegiate stops at UCF, USF, and Cincinnati. A Hamilton, Ohio native, Day was active in inner-city ministry and began his career as a strength room intern at Miami (Ohio), where he earned a degree in physical education.
