Tom Masella was hired as Wagner College’s 12th head football coach in 2019, returning to his alma mater with over 30 years of coaching experience. A Staten Island native and Wagner Athletics Hall of Famer, Masella previously served as defensive coordinator at Bryant, helping lead the team to All-NEC honors. He played a key role in Wagner’s historic 2012 season, guiding the Seahawks to their first NEC Football Championship and an NCAA FCS playoff win.
Masella was a standout defensive back at Wagner, earning induction into the Hall of Fame in 2018. With a focus on player development, he aims to rebuild the program by reconnecting with local high school coaches and strengthening recruitment.
