Dan Gritti joined the Owls in 2023 as Senior Offensive Assistant, Analytics Coordinator, and Special Advisor to the Head Coach. With 11 years of head coaching experience (56-45 overall), he’s known for reviving struggling programs. At Millikin (2016-2021), Gritti led the team to its first winning season since 2009 and back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2002-03. At Rhodes College (2011-2015), he guided the Lynx to an SAA Championship in 2013 and consecutive 8-2 seasons, the program’s best since 1977.
Gritti’s teams excel in aggressive defense and special teams, with his Rhodes units ranking nationally in sacks, tackles for loss, and fourth-down defense. He previously served as an assistant at the University of Chicago and Middlebury College, helping both win conference titles. Gritti began his career as a defensive quality control assistant at Indiana University. He holds degrees in Political Science and U.S. History from Vanderbilt and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin.
